What is damp proofing??
Damp proofing protects your walls from moisture. Our systems stop moisture from either rising or penetrating through the walls and floors to the interior of your property.
Persistent damp in your building can lead to more serious problems like fungal decay, wet rot, dry rot & mould. Dampness causes your timbers to rot, and your plaster and wall coverings deteriorate.

How we can help
It’s important to identify the source of the damp correctly, in order to treat it effectively and eradicate the problem. That’s why our surveyors carry out an initial thorough survey to diagnose the issues accurately. We’ll then provide you with a suggested course of action and a quote for the work.
The methods we use to treat damp include:
- Injecting special-purpose chemicals into the affected walls: This creates a barrier between the damp ground and the dry structure above.
- Repairing plaster: After the wall has been treated, it’s usually necessary to repair the plaster that has been damaged by damp. We offer a specialist replastering service for this issue.
- Barrier systems (sometimes referred to as ‘Tanking’) using a quality membrane or cementitious system to stop moisture penetrating through walls.

Once we have the physical specifications, and your input on your requirements, we’ll design a system that works for you.

Approval
We’ll send you a specification, together with a report which explains the technical aspects. We’re happy to chat through this with you and make any changes you’ve identified.

With an approved plan in place, we’ll get to work on the date we’ve agreed between us.
